SMAQMD Spare The Air Campaign

Members of the Prosio Communications team have been working with the Sacramento Metropolitan Air Quality Management District since 2005 to implement its Spare The Air campaign, which runs annually from May through October. The primary goal of the campaign is to educate residents and businesses in the Sacramento region about summertime ozone air quality issues and how to reduce exposure to unhealthy air. Each year, Prosio Communications develops and implements a comprehensive outreach program to create awareness about the Spare The Air program, educate the public about the impacts of poor air quality and its effects and encourage them to do their part to help reduce air pollution. Outreach activities include advertising, social media, collateral and informational materials, community events, partnership development, media relations, websites and survey research.
