Name: Lori Prosio
Title: President and CEO (Chief Enthusiasm Officer!)
Hometown: Roseville, CA
But I wish I could live in: I love Roseville – it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else at this stage in my life – it’s why I chose to open Prosio Communications here – it’s awesome. That said, if I had to pick somewhere else to live, I’d say somewhere in Tuscany. I spent three weeks in Italy many years ago and there’s nothing quite like it – amazing food, scenery, people and of course, wine!
Accounts You Work On: Every single one of them! There’s rarely something going on around here that I’m not a part of.
My professional superpower: Probably multitasking – I can write an editorial for a client, review monthly invoices and conduct a staff meeting all at one time (add a glass of wine in there, and that’s a typical Thursday afternoon around here!)
Dog or Cat: Definitely dog – ours is named Scout, and he’s pretty stinking cute.
Favorite thing about my job: Getting to work with people I love every day. It’s rare it ever feels like a job, and I have to pinch myself to remind myself how amazing it is.
Favorite Prosio Communications memory (so far): The day the company went from one to three – when Kari and Alma joined me in this awesome adventure. It was good to have my team back together.
My reason to get out of bed in the morning: Personally – my amazing family; professionally – this company, because I really do love what I do – all of it, every day. I was born for this and I’m so glad I took the risk.
I wish it could be this holiday every day: Definitely Thanksgiving. I make a mean sweet potato casserole, and I absolutely love pumpkin pie.
The “most-played” song on my iPod: Probably Vivaldi, Concerto in B Minor. Ha. Right. Just kidding. Right now it has to be Meghan Trainor’s “All about that bass” – it’s literally stuck in my head every day. It’s unhealthy how many times I like to listen to that song in a row. Equally unhealthy? How many times I’ve watched it here.
A celebrity who would play me in a movie would be: I’ve been told I look a bit like Neve Campbell, so I guess her.
The best movie you’ve seen in the last six months: I just saw This Is Where I Leave You and I LOVED it. It was such a great combination of funny and sad, and it had an incredible cast. I’m sure I’ll see it at least a dozen more times.
Your three favorite books of all time: Wow this is a hard one. I love to read, and I would definitely consider myself a bibliophile…so it’s hard to pick just three. Off the top of my head, probably “The Corrections” by Jonathan Franzen, “Let’s Pretend This Never Happened” by Jenny Lawson and “She’s Come Undone” by Wally Lamb. I could list so many more, though.
If I had to be a beverage, I’d be a: Glass of really good wine – every single day of the week.
If I could dis-invent one thing, it would be: Definitely “Captcha” – you know what it is (stands for Completely Automated Public Turing test to tell Computers and Humans Apart) – that silly challenge-response test that gets used when you’re trying to buy something online? It’s supposed to determine whether or not you are a human…and it is so annoying. I mean, it’s almost impossible to figure out what the thing is asking me to input, and when I’m sure I’ve figured it out, it generally still takes me six tries to get it right and I just want to order tickets to go see Meghan Trainor! Makes me crazy.
I’m most proud of: My newfound work/life balance; this business is one of the most important things I’ve ever done in my life, but so is raising my beautiful four-year old twins – and I’m glad I don’t have to choose between the two to have a full, balanced, happy and fully-fulfilled life.
