Name: Kari Chapman
Title: Director
Hometown: Sacramento
But I wish I could live in: Boston (ask me to do my accent!)
Accounts You Work On: An easier question is which accounts DON’T I work on? Spoiler alert: there are NONE!
My professional superpower: Grammar Girl – editing the world one dangling participle at a time! If only I could wear a cape and use my AP Stylebook as my shield…
Favorite thing about my job: Even though we fall into a routine, each day is different. It’s perfect for those of us who are easily bored by monotony. I also love the people that I work with; it makes spending time at work so much more enjoyable.
Favorite Prosio Communications memory (so far): It’s been a year of wonderful memories, but I think the one that stands out most is when we had our first team meeting at Lori’s house well before office space was a consideration. It was just me, Lori and Alma at Lori’s kitchen table, and none of us could stop smiling. I still have that smile.
My reason to get out of bed in the morning: I love my life. I have a great family, loving husband, two adorable fur babies, a very tight-knit group of friends, a career I am passionate about and just about everything else one can be thankful for. I also get out of bed for spin, TRX, boot camp or running…I have a lot of energy – if I didn’t work out, nobody would ever want to be around me. #hyperactive
I wish it could be this holiday every day: Thanksgiving. We spend our Thanksgiving with close friends at a vacation house – lots of wine, good food, love and laughter – I look forward to it every year. I also love that Thanksgiving is smack dab in the middle of the holidays…the weather is cool and crisp, the food is rich and warm and I still have Christmas to look forward to.
The “most-played” song on my iPod: “Beautiful Day” by U2. This song never gets old for me and can pull me out of the worst mood. Also, in the interest of full disclosure, “Ice, Ice Baby” and “Regulators” receive a nod – and I can sing every word by heart. It really is hard to narrow it down, though; I am driven by music and each day is a different mood requiring a different playlist.
A celebrity who would play me in a movie would be: The two actresses that people most often tell me that I resemble are Megyn Price ( “Rules of Engagement”) and Lauren Graham (“Gilmore Girls”) – I think it’s their witty, snarkiness. I also get Amy Schumer a lot, but I think that’s my crass sense of humor.
If I had to be a beverage, I’d be a: Martini. Classy and subtle, with a powerful punch! Slightly shaken, but never stirred.
If I could dis-invent one thing, it would be: Caller ID. Sometimes I just want to call someone and not worry that they aren’t picking up BECAUSE it’s me.
I’m most proud of: This. Life. Right. Here.
