Ahh. The feelings that come with beginning a new job.  The nerves and sleepless nights, the hour(s) spent highly overanalyzing the official “first day” outfit choice. Oh – we also can’t forget about the joyous sound of three backup alarms fiercely chirping at your bedside, followed by the, “What does this statement necklace really say about me?” moment.

Then there’s the actual time spent on the new job. There’s the, “What’s my cubicle neighbor’s name again?” freak-out moment, followed by the anxiety-inducing sound of footsteps that signal the first official interaction with your new boss. These quickly lead into hours upon hours of training, a caffeine refuel to cure your current stress headache, and – wait. Pause. What am I talking about?

I am quite pleased to say that the above scenarios – well, with the exception of a little outfit overanalyzing – are a polar opposite of my experience as the newest member of the Prosio Communications team. In fact, I’ve often found myself questioning whether I applied for a full time job, or a really, really amazing home away from home.

Now I’ll be honest – I did my research on the Prosio team before even landing an interview, so I had no doubt that I’d be working with some pretty stellar individuals…and let’s just say, they haven’t let me down! Whether it was welcoming me with open arms and a smile, or kindly taking the time to escape the office and get to know each other over some Mongolian BBQ (I like the way these ladies think!), things were off to a great start.

Back at the office, I’ve learned the Prosio women don’t mess around.  As any hardworking woman knows, it’s important to get down to business – as long as you have a little fun doing it.  Now don’t get me wrong, the Prosio team definitely gets down to business. These ladies know their stuff.  Having always been slightly – okay, excessively – obsessed with organization, timelines, and checklists, it was quite a delight to find myself in an environment that calls for just that. Whether working on campaign strategy, brainstorming creative concepts, or discussing our favorite wines, our minds are constantly in motion – and I love that.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not sure what’s better than actually being excited to wake up and go to work every day. This speaks volumes, considering there’s very few things short of a Disneyland trip that can get this girl excited before 8 a.m.

I certainly feel privileged to have joined the Prosio Communications team and can’t wait to see all that this journey will hold – for myself, my coworkers, and our clients.  We have some pretty exciting stuff in the works, and I’m beyond thrilled to be a part of it.
